What a great take on the "air" poem writing challenge! Yes, why wouldn't they tax that, too? And the picture is perfect as we need the oxygen in the air, not the CO2.

This 3-5-3, Out of Breath, uses those eleven syllables to warn of the coming limitations on that thing we call oxygen. The rich, I guess, don't need it.

Hello zanya, OMG. There is some deep thinking going on here. This is a poem of truth. What else is left that can be taxed other than air and water. Of special note:

gasp for breath
(gasp for breath, indeed, poet friend)

A strong contest entry. Good luck in the voting booth. LateBloomer

A very well-written 3-5-3 poem. The only thing we still can have for free is the air that we breathe every second to stay alive. It will surely be a sad day when we have to pay for the air we inhale.

This is good. We can get away from many things...but taxes? That is one item that really sucks all the air out of the sky. Or maybe, Thins out the air from our wallet. A good entry for the 3-5-3 contest. :)

I am enjoying these "air" poems. Always fun to see what people can do with so few words and in so little time. Yours is perfect. Maybe we should rename the tax on tobacco "air tax." See, you got me to thinking.
