Any advice would be so welcome. Meanwhile, I will re-read this one and relish your words, especially, "Far from the scented verdant glade/with mainsail fully trimmed." So lovely.

Easyeverett1, this is a well written poem. There are some beautiful lines --""But once abundance youth did thrive", or "a mind and body born to win." You capture the passing of youth so well, but not rescinding on things that bring beautiful memories says a lot about a seaman's positive attitude. Well done.

Ah, memories are made of these. The sea, the salt and wind whipping the sails to action. I liked your poem so much. I grew up with boats and fishing with my Dad. To return to the verdant green and feet of clay leaves us bereft of freedom sailing the seas of our youth. Well done Tom.

From doddering eyes, pure perfection. This hark to the process of aging is a lovely rendering with impeccable lines such as; "Where eros was the truth alive" and so much more. I was highly engaged through the progression of growing long in the tooth as time flitters by, while completely satiated by visual and emotional indulgence. Your quatrains flow like an open sea (smelling the briny mist) set in a beautiful structure, with a steady breeze at the stern and stunningly captures the duration of the life cycle with an eventual rendezvous.
