A very well-written poem about hate that is inside each one of us and just wait for an opportunity to shows its head and speaks through us for everyone to see and observe. It is a very bad emotion that can make us sick in many ways.

Splendid writing. Hate is a disease that spreads on the winds of fear and insecurity.
You have written of it well and I wish you the best of luck in the contest. Hate is insidious and your last lines ring very true. Good work!

Five stars only because I'm out of sixes. This is so accurately penned. Hate does all the negative things you have mentioned... And more.
I like that you have used a dark background because it is demonstrative of the effects of hate.
The rhyming is great, so is the flow. When read aloud it is impactful.
Best of luck in the contest.

Well, Ms. Boogienights, your poem certainly lifted my spirits. (possible humor). As I read your work, it got me thinking... what if hate is genetic? What if it is passed on like a recessive gene? Sometimes skipping a generation or two, but always comes back. Can it be just from how a person is raised? His/her environment? Your writing is true in that hatred seems to be always there and just keeps coming back. But why? We have evolved and have learned so much, why can't we get rid of it? This was most thought provoking. Best wishes.

A great job with this poem. Draws on some deep, dark emotions, fully realized in your poem. Strong verbiage, stark, yet powerful imagery, it all relates very well, tied together with the inevitable sum of the closing passage. Well done!

Your very well written poem speaks volumes. Hate can consume an entire being's soul. One must continually strive to look at the positive side of life as hate will destroy a soul without batting an eye. Let's pray for more love than hate in our human family.
Thanks for sharing. The image was perfect for your poem
Kind regards.

Hi there,
Your poetry does an excellent job of showing just how insidious this emotion is and how much pain and destruction it can cause.
Too many lives are thriving on hate right now. Hate crimes are up, and the world is a dark place.

This free verse, Hate Speaks, carries the first-person, negative message down through the occasionally rhyming verse and makes note that "there's (always) a place for me." Nice.

Honest and True. The image you chose goes perfectly with your content. It's dark and angry and beautiful. The ending truly brings it all together. We are all capable of hate.
