Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted

Thank goodness for picking up a trick or two, I say. It's all go here and not looking good for Joe.

'Don't say anything, but blink once for 'yes', and twice for 'no', okay? - need closing speech marks here.

to smack the man on his back-side - backside can be a single word here.

Joe hesitated, then turned and walked back to his sister - should be Daveth here rather than Joe.

I'm trying find Joe - trying to find.

After we rushed though it to see - through.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Well, Veronica has learnt some tricks on her travels through time, and she rescues Aunt Gladys and Elowen from the clutches of one of the thugs, by poking a poker into into the "jailers" chest, she manages to frighten the poor the soul and he runs off. Then looking for Joe, to see if he's OK, she bumps into Gwendolyn, watching Meg play with her son, Gwendolyn tells her to look in the cellar, bringing back memories, she finds Joe slumped in a chair, beaten by the two thugs. Well done Sandra, excellent chapter, blessings, Roy
Typo (Joe) hesitated, then...Daveth?
