Silken words that fall on a sow's ear in many cases, my friend - but after awhile, I believe we realize it's not worth attempting, and write for ourselves and those who DO care, don't we? Roy, if you ever publish these magnificent words, I want to know.

This is a superb, touching and artistic poem, sculpted so artfully in word and rhyme, really deserves 6 stars but I have none left this month. I also appreciated your footnotes. God Bless You. john

Very wise and eloquent, dear friend. Inspiring substance. Fine flow and musicality.

NOTES:

LOVE THIS LINE:
speak verbal silk not goads in lace.

Great metaphor:

Destructive speech can tear a soul,
instead of diamonds -- lumps of coal.

LOVE THESE LINES:
A writer's soul walks wisdom's maze --
with power to crush or power to raise.

Superb rhymes, alliteration, consonance and MEANING!

a broken heart its scars can mend.

Hi Roy! Rhyming wisdom. I liked the spiritual tie at the end and the biblical quotes. This was an cool and enjoyable read. The accompanying artwork was a great choice too. Lovely work.

This reminds me of the scripture that warns how a tongue can set a forest on fire. We can heal with words of wisdom, like honey. Or we can destroy. Ultimately, to forgive is better than retaliating with hurtful words. Unfortunately the world reflects anything but grace these days. Thank you for sharing these lovely sentiments.

How true this is. Whether in reviewing a post or dealing with a difficult neighbor, the same rule applies: be kind, consider feelings, and you'll get better results. Grace wins, anger and cruelty have lost before they begin. Yet, people tend to react with emotion and not reason.

Remember that old book by Dale Carnegie, How to Win Friends and Influence People? The message in it stuck with me and has helped a lot in my life.

Whether you learn grace from the Bible or from that book, it's the gift God gave us to live together in peace. Sad that so many do just the opposite and go through life ending friendships and making enemies.

Thanks so much Phyllis for your kind words and wisdom, it's just that all my instruction is generated by the bible, but your right, if one receives wisdom reflected or otherwise, it is good. So thanks for these fine comments and great review, blessings, Roy

Thank you for sharing again, I very much like all you write and do understand the words and agree, :) but I feel I am the other side of the same coin, I do believe in a God, perhaps just a little differently, I feel that with God being all knowing that creative oneness is experiencing all there is "as us" and the Grace is all the negative will end at some point and the beauty of Eden will again be ours as is said in a new Heaven and new earth. I feel Jesus who has been my friend all my life was and is the GREAT EXAMPLE not the exception. Love all there is. :)

This is so true. We writers sometimes need to sweeten our words with a spoonful of grace, both in our original satirical work and sometimes in our reviews of others' efforts, another fine piece of philosophy.

Yes, it is divine to forgive. It's also very healthy psychologically. If you don't forgive, you wallow in your anger and resentment becoming a psychologically sick person.
What is CSB? I know NKJV is New King James Version.
