A man should seek his own release --
to capture truth -- trap Heaven's peace.

LOve the way you phrased that. The whole piece is excellently done but this part hooked me.
'Seek wisdom with the heart of a child' ... so true

I feel we can't truly have wisdom without the help of God. It isn't in our humanness to have. We need God's help as in all things. Thank you for sharing this poem with us.

Amen! Thank you for this very wise and faith-affirming poem, Roy! I especially liked:
"A child can grasp the sweetest truth --
because the dust cannot blind youth. "

Jesus instructed us to approach Him like a child, trusting and not depending on one's own knowledge and sight.

Cheers, Roy;
-thank you for your authors notes it was quite a philosophical understanding of the necessity of a person's wisdom.
-Well I'm stocked with all this philosophy that I'm overwhelmed and need a bicarbonate institutionalized regurgitating agent. And after taking that I could understand the many philosophies written in your poem and all the common denominators involved.
-"If one will curse a prophet's cause, how will one know, perceive one's course?" I have struggled other people just do not believe and their skepticism overrides anything that has to do with the existence of Christ is the Lord. "Show me proof?" Is what I mostly get. They could bury him somewhere else and they picked the wrong person when they dug up the grave. Did he ever exist?"
-Skepticism rains highly amongst the disbelievers.
-As long as it doesn't hamper me I'm not fine with it all understanding happens.
-Your poem of wisdom and the related ideas surrounding it has impregnated many other outcomes and out shoots also philosophized.
-Thanks for sharing this, Roy, and take care and have a good one.

I do agree with you, that writers have this greater task of using his craft to plant the seed of truth anchored on God's teachings through his written work. This primordial task is sometimes forgotten by some writers in the name of art. Thanks for sharing another excellent write. God bless.

Excellent exploration of the theme, my friend. Superb flow nd rhyming. Superb imagery. Good teaching style tone. I reall enjoyed the alliteration of F and the consonance of V and L on the first stanza plus the alliteration of P in almost all stanzas.

A house of faith cannot be built
on river's flow or vagrant silt.

So well voiced! Good metaphor.

No one constructs a fortress wall
on porous sand -- the North wind's call.

Excellent elaboration and extension of that metaphor.

NICE VOICING and image:
Please search the heights, for wisdom seeks
with lifted eyes beyond faith's peak.

Favorite lines:

A man should seek his own release --
to capture truth -- trap Heaven's peace.

and:

It's not with naked eyes men see,
but with the soul -- on bended knee.

Perfect closing note:
How can the knowledge man has gleaned
be wells of wisdom groomed and preened?

A six if I had one. Bravo

Love,
rd

Hello Roy
Ah love these lines-with lifted eyes beyond faith's peak.
A child can grasp the sweetest truth --
because the dust cannot blind youth.
I recall when Jesus apostles tried to keep the children away, And how Jesus said
Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there.

It's not with eyes we see but with the soul... don't hear that very often and probably should.

A child can grasp the sweetest truth --
because the dust cannot blind youth.

That is so true. Kids who have not been exposed to the negative attitudes of parents see things more clearly it seems. Once they "learn" enough, the dust accumulates and clouds those early insights. So sad, both for the kids and for our society.

I think that's what God was talking about to Adam and Eve, knowledge would rob them of their innocence. And ousting after power and greed would consume them, thank you for your great support and affirmation,Phyllis, blessings, Roy
