LOL! That's a new one, and it will be hard to beat. Stoney sounds like a fun guy. He must have been laughing the whole way, standing on that frozen horse.
Btw, I like the Yankee motto on buying and selling. :)

Thanks Phyllis, a favorable review from you warms my poor old heart on a snowy day on Cape Cod. Nice to hear from you, and I hope and pray you are doing well. As for Stoney, he certainly supplied Dad with some stories. I vaguely remember him, but I'm not sure the humorous nature you attribute to him is as accurate as well intentioned. I think "Stoney" may be more descriptive of his nature. In any case, thanks! Dennis

Oh my goodnes. I couldn't imagine how to ride a dead horse until this story enlightened me. It feels disrespectful to me, yet I can picture it all in its strangeness. This is an entertaining story. I wish you well in the contest.

Thanks Joy, and I agree it carries a measure of disrespect for the poor old farm horses that once were so vital to building America. I guess there is a measure of practicality to moving a large dead animal which makes it more palatable.
God bless, Dennis
