Thanks. Good advice and some introspective thoughts toward the time we have here. Gratitude, grace, compassion, great words that need more action and placement in our lives. To the Lakota, TAKASHALA is their word for the universal father. In their prayers of gratitude they will say: "Takashala, thank you for everything you have given, and everything you have taken away. Some people don't get that, but I think you will.

A poem of truths revealed in how to live a life in the light with pure gratitude. The mind is a garden rich in the soil of thought and contemplation of life's truths. But beware, for like a garden it can be filled with terrible pests that erode its fruits. When Satan tries to enfold you in the many cloaks of darkness, resist the darkness by reaching for the light which is God Almighty, the ultimate source of light and continuity of light that delivers us from the evils and darkness!

His Grayness, there is much spiritual insight in this poem. Your message is strong and offers the meaningful perspective as you intended.

However, the poem may read a little smoother with reformatting, but it is not distracting to the reader. As is, it reads as a prose poem. Perhaps that is your intention.

Thank you for sharing.

Indeed dear Vance,
you share here a most vital and poignant perspective on gratitude's key
role in warding off the treatening dark devilish energies of darkness that
weaken and surround us; blocking out the Light Of God which
always prevails and guides beyond any and all darkness or despair.
Gratitude is indeed the indisputable mirrored sword to infuse us
with immunity and protect us through His Light and guidance beyond.
God's power is truly omnipotent, and in reliance and faith in Him
through our gratitude for all the more good and positive things in life
we are blessed with more often. Takes inner grace and trust to
prayer your good fortunes and blessings.
Thanks fr sharing, this indeed is a blessing you share so kindly
and enlighteningly.
Love, blesssings, Ronni

Dearest Ronni, thank you so much and so sincerely for this very thoughtful and uplifting review. Each time I reach to the keyboard, I ask myself first, Will these fingers touch the right keys to blend a gift of wisdom, encouragement, faith, hope, truth, or a blessing of some merit to the readers who will see it? When I receive such a wonderful acknowledgement as you have penned here, it truly brings me Joy and strengthens my will to "keep trying" my best. Bless you dear one for lighting my day! Vance...PS: YOU are indeed truly beautiful in so many ways!

I appreciate the sentiments of your poem--though I am an atheist I can interpret the light in your poem in a positive way. I would call this work a small essay or perhaps a prose poem as I found it lacking in poetic elements. You spoiled a wonderful metaphor by explaining it afterwards.

yes Vance, I would like to let you know that this comes at a time when the meaning is very important to me. I have read a lot of enlightening things on here lately, and this seems to tie them all together. I love your use of contrast here which between the dark aspects and the positive ones. Yhe mind as a garden, very well put.

lovely rhyming scheme kind of rambling I think it might be presented better if it had a couple spaces in it but in general I had no problem with the way that it was presented.

It was like a big gift with some wonderful things and not so wonderful but packaged in such a way ice to make the whole very enjoyable.

I have been here for about 11 years and we have had some interaction, it is a pleasure to read uplifting entry.

Hi, Vance;
I know your words are a blessing to me. I like to be reminded that I always need to pray - NOT just when things are going badly, but also give Him prayers for thanksgiving when things are going right.

Thank you so much for sharing,

~patty~
