How did I miss this winning post? I enjoyed your interpretation of the prompt and could not agree with your conclusion more! I admired your rhymes plus "clay" and "formaldehyde" metaphors. Big cheers- Joan

This is witty, and you pull it off with a nice bit of humor, I liked the ending. I think the format creates this great counterpoint staccato that emulates the two competing voices of the news organizations, and you get a great sense of the listener caught between them, frustrated, pulled into directions. the meter is quick and upbeat, and the rhyme scheme helped with the counter point, nice job estory

Hi Dallas01, congratulations on the contest win! I stopped watching the news a long time ago. They are all nuts and bent on spreading lies and hatred - the very thing they accuse others of doing.

Thank you very much, first laugh I've had today, sorry it wasn't a laugh of joy but more of frustration it seems we are watching one person flush down the drain what has been struggled for so long, I feel he has lit up the gray zone with the bold non-reality of the sh** and from our leadership. Love all there is and try to smile :(

So glad it made you smile. Too bad it is not a piece of fiction.

Congratulations on your win in the contest. I'm a news junkie, too. Very good poem about what is truth and what is not. The proof of the pudding is in how they vote. Marilyn

Hi Dallas. We have no control over these things, so we have to let them go.

The picture is very random, and doesn't seem to go with the theme of your poem at all, unless I'm not understanding what's going on in the picture. I feel it might be better used for some sort of horror themed writing.

I really like the rhythm and rhymes in the poem, although I got confused at the end when you censored yourself, even though you gave a language warning, and left "bullshit" as it is.

I thoroughly enjoyed this poem. It's witty, it has a strong rhyme scheme, it has a positive flow. I could imagine this being read as part of the weekend news on Saturday Night Live. Imaginative, creative, well written.

WOW OMG What an amazingly comical and entertaining poem story. That person looks just like somebody I know and that person is me. I flip back and forth between four news channels trying to catch all the news. Then, I try to watch news four to five times a day. You got my thumbs up and I think I launched you into 1st place. NICELY DONE. Liberty justice

I know what you mean. We were both obsessed with the news. Planes keep crashing and skidding off runway. This official said he accidentally pushed the wrong button--the button that said a missile had been fired and was headed to Hawaii right then. Crazy. This happened, yesterday. liberty justice

Good picture to complement your message in a poem :) I enjoyed your bouncy meter in each line that kept the momentum to the last line of the poem. Satisfying rhymes. Terrific job fitting CNN and Fox into your poem so smoothly. This is a fun contest entry. I wish you well in the contest.

Joy xx
