Thank you for sharing your reflections on aging and fading idealism. You struck strong chords and your rhymed couplets added to the intensity. Keep the faith--peace! -Joan

A very well-written poem. When we look back on our lives it seems like a moment that flash through our minds. Some of us experienced war before but nothing changed, the people are all still mad at each other for one or other reason.

Where did our youth go? That is a very good question.
I lost track of time, life got in the way.
I like your poem, very well written and expressed.

A thought provoking poem Victor. I was born on the fringe of the Baby Boomer Age and I remember much of your references.
Well done.

God, mustangs and Woodstock. How right U are. My best high school friend, Mark-had a mustang. Always drove on fumes and right front and back tires on side of road in the gravel. Goddamned idiot. Of course, he's lookin at anything but driving. I called him "Stuff", and the nickname stuck.

I liked this very much. Every generation has its own dreams..some are realized, some aren't . The main thing is to have dreams and to do whatever we can to see them fulfilled. Thanks for sharing.

Having been born in 1960, I remember much about 'Nam, Nixon and a lot of stuff that came afterward, Doug.
Andy Warhol was a big influence on me as a young man, artistically speaking, as was H.R. Giger later on. Poets such as Denise Duhamel, Gary Soto, and Paul Muldoon made me wanna write.
Hippies, the "Love Revolution", and the Disco area all came and went.
So has a lot of our nation's morals and ethics as well.
Great write.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Victor.
Yes, it's wave after wave of disappointments generation after generation, fighting against the tides.
Let's try to believe there will be future generations to reflect on how we survived the uncertainty of today.
Wishing you a happy, healthy 2018,
