This is a clever Limerick. A very unusual subject and union here and I really enjoyed it. Your little poem is well researched too! A unique Limerick, loved it! Love Dolly x

Poor, Chris. He must've had some kind of scurvy or seawoozies or something to mistake manatees for mermaids. I'll bet those voyages were absolutely brutal beyond the imagination.

I like the sound of your new work. Manatine. Does that rhyme with tine or teen? Please say teen because that's a softer sound.

Excellent Limerick form too by the way. Odd coupling indeed, but these things happened in the raunchy crowd back in the day I hear.

Great job! I very much enjoy the surprise of a new work every day.

Gloria

I took it as "teen", rather than "tine." But never having heard it spoken, who knows?

Thanks again for the kind review, Gloria. Much appreciated :)
