I think this is a good entry for the '5-7-5' writing prompt.
Well said in your few short words.
Well done and good luck to you with the competition.

Thanks for the kind review.

Thanks for explaining why I feel so tired these days. Here, I thought it was just my age. Skillful use of alliteration with D and P. Near rhyme with deep freeze.

OMG, yer killin me! Woman, your wit is exceptional. I am about to have a meltdown from being locked up in my house because of this deep freeze. Thank heavens the weather is supposed to change next week! Best of luck with this clever poem. :))

It is RAINING outside. :( Better than that *&%$! deep freeze, but geez... Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, but I might go today anyway. What boots to wear tho? (LOL)

Your icicle-filled artwork selection establishes the mood perfectly for your 5-7-5. I enjoyed your alliteration but I hope it and the cold don't take too much of a toll! (Don't be jealous--I'm sitting in a fog bank in Southern California.) Best wishes in the contest- Joan

I'm not sure I could survive a long cold icy cold winter, and you have my sympathy and I feel the pain and apathy within your words, very poignant, best wises, love Dolly x

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. In wintertime we can expect to be covered in snow for days on end and keep us all inside in front of the chimneyvm fire to let the town appear brain dead.

Dallas,
I think what you are talking about is the process that happens when people are subjected to very cold temperatures. The body slowly shuts down until it gives up entirely. It's a sad process, but I understand it may be a rather kind one. This is a different sort of entry and a good one. Good luck!

Causing me to be submerged in inertia. Finally moved frmo sofa and words with friends, to Fanstory. a wiser choice. Thanks for reviewing. -3 here today going to be worse tomorrow.

Oh... So, that's what's been wrong with me! It is -3 degrees here with a wind chill of minus 13 below.
That would explain my ineptitude--it's simply brain damage.
I thought it might be something serious.
Good consonance of "d" in line one, DALLAS.
Good play on the word, "precipitation", in your second.
As for your last line, we already know how I feel about that.
Good 5-7-5.
Best of luck!

My temperature is same as yours. Thanks for reviewing. Finally moved from couch, and trading words with friends, for Fanstory. A wiser choice. I was becoming a member of the couch-potato gang.

As cold as it is I can' say as I blame you.
You're more than welcome, DALLAS
Try to keep warm!
