Sad and funny, the story's funny. What's sad is how young people get their information and it's gospel to them.

I liked the fairly level playing field between the two debaters (and I'm being kind to the taller one!)

Funny piece. :-)

I agree on the sadness, but let's be encouraged life is a teacher too. So we can hope for good for them as well. I no longer completely believe everything I was taught as a child, by the grace of God. That thing about grape seeds getting into one's appendix and causing an attack of appendicitis hardly affects me anymore...I just don't like grapes, OK? :) Thanks for reviewing, Dennis

They do let us down, don't they? My problem is, my grandchildren know a lot more than I ever did at their age, and like you, I don't like to argue the point in case I really am wrong! I enjoyed your story, it was fun and serious! :) Sandra x

Thanks for your review, much appreciated. I don't know if the kids are getting smarter or just more self-confident. Oh well, God's not through with any of us yet, we all have much to learn. God bless, Dennis

HI Dennis, I hate think about the kids of the future...if they lose their phones...and I mean little kids...they will be lost...in school...and in life...when we were kids we went out and played...we leaned through life...we had to think for ourselves...not the kids today...only God knows what will happen...your story is very well told...and very well written...so good to see you my friend...hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New years...God Bless...love Linda xxoo

All my grandchildren are home schooled and I am happy about that as I read and hear so much about what is taught in our public schools these days. Some are now in college and I hope they are grounded enough to hold up against the influences of the day.
This is a fun read - you have a wonderful way with finding the humor in our everyday life.

Well done Dennis.

Blessings
janet

Thank you Janet...yes, home schooling which is well supervised, well run can really be a good thing. Also, it can dramatically cut college costs if managed well.

God bless you, dear sister in Christ and may 2018 be filled with abundant blessings for you and your family, Dennis

Great insightful post and one that appeals to me as an Old
codger still trying to figure out the destruction of the idea of moral clarity and love of country.

It's truly amazing how the moral climate has changed isn't it? I submit the lack of true Bible knowledge is a large part of this transition. Thanks for the review and God bless, Dennis

I waited until I could give you a six on this. Humor is your forte, Clark Kent. Love the childish debate and your comment that followed.
Too cool images:
A Kool-Aid cocktail is in her hand, simultaneously satisfying her thirst and refreshing her cartoon lips,

I drew myself up to my full height of Dinosaur-from-the-age-of-moral-absolutes, prepared to do ideological battle with this impertinent usurper.

Clever mix of immature behavior with high-falutin' speech.

Fondly, LL

The Lois Lane Superman knew never said "fondly" to him! ""Fondly" was her term for her attitude toward Clark Kent

Oh well, I can always be John Boy....:) Nice to hear from you, Mom.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Not an unexpected scolding for bratty behavior...CK (chastised, folds cape and puts it away)

I know so many people who are home schooling their children nowadays. This is a creative and clever story, the little girl appears to be quite sure of herself. You have a realistic flow of dialog.

Thanks for the review! Home schooling does look more and more attractive...and if managed correctly can shave many $ off of a college education. God bless you in 2018, Dennis

That was funny. I saw a lot of contrast between the combatives in this story. The big guy with an expanded vocabulary versus the little girl who decries, "did so." There's no in between. This has nuance. I saw cultural references, historical references, and downright laugh-out-loud prose. I think it's well-written. I quit looking for spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors at the first zinger. Great job. I'm sure your fans will love this.

Thanks for your review and you are right, both my fans were ecstatic. Not so much over the story, but that I got my comeuppance from the little liberal twerp. :)

Well written and entertaining as well, but I would have to side with your pint-size nemesis. As the saying goes, History is written by the victors, and we are becoming more and more aware of this fact, as time goes on. Certain, so called, historical facts were written in order to push a certain agenda, which at the time were thought to be beneficial to the over all good. As time has gone on new evidence and public awareness has brought to light what could be conceived as lies, or propaganda. It actually just proves the old saying, that idols have feet of clay, or simply people are human.

Thanks for reviewing and commenting so thoughtfully. I would have to say it's probably as wrong to assume all reports of history are incorrect as it is to gullibly swallow propaganda past...or present.
    Thanks again, Dennis

A very well-written short story. It is quite sad that our children and grandchildren are taught that it is alright to tell lies because the leaders of our countries are doing the same.
