I can totally empathise here. I don't like cats, and they always seem to know it...lol

she'd hiss threatengly- threateningly.

.We decided to keep her outside - delete the full stop from the beginning of this line.

Disturbing... I wonder how abused the cat was...

I'm puzzled by your comment questioning the degree of cat abuse. Were you referring to abuse by the woman who had the affair with Daphne?
