I think this is a good entry for the 'Behind The Door' writing prompt.
You have a clear message here. Well written.
Good luck to you with the competition.

Me? Sarcastic?!? Nah, perish the thought.
You mean kinda like the question you asked at the top of your post, right?
Or was that merely a rhetorical question?

Okay, I only jest to make a point.

Yes, I have been known to become very sardonically sarcastic at times, depending upon the topic.
It usually happens in the forums where some busy-body know it all seemingly has an answer for everything.
Sometimes things aren't just black and white.
Sometimes, there are grey areas too.
Happy New Year!

Thanks for your comments, Dean. Actually, it IS a rhetorical question, intended to imply what the poem will be about. And he last line WAS supposed to be included in the speech marks. (I haven't been involved in forums, so I''m glad I'm not one of the busybody know-it-alls you referred to.)

Thanks again, and Happy New Year to you, too!

Hahaha, you're more than welcome, and I hope you realize that I was only yanking your chain a bit.
Happy New Year, and best of luck to you!

No, i thought you were entirely sincere. Which part of my chain? I didn't even feel the quiver.
I believe I will be the most recent to wish you another Happy New Year! Happy New Year to you and yours, Dean!

Hi there,

Well, this one fits the bill in regard to contest requirements. the flow and rhythm work well and good solid rhyming too.

An umbrella stand
stands behind the door - not sold on the repetition of stand here.

We'll tell him, "Mind your business,"
You are what a door is for! - perhaps the last line here should also be in speech marks.

I appreciate your input, GMG. I fully agree. Loose ends are tightened up. I fully agree.
    Thank you.
