This is a fantastic piece to noodle over, Mav. There are so many possibilities for how the metaphorical mountains of ignorance are formed and which is stronger the river or the mountains. The one thing for certain is the river has much-broader education as it travels all over the world and the mountains are pretty well stationary except for when they make a massive move and then we're in big trouble.
I think this a fantastic job with the contest description. And could easily be a cornerstone of a much larger piece.
The gold tones of the artwork are a perfect match too!

Aww ... I'm so pleased you're in tune with this one, Ange. This is my annual moment of clarity. You're on the money with what I'm thinking. I would add the aspect of the river or the waters effect in eroding the mountain or actually taking part in forming the pathway, the canyon, through the mountain. I thought about a longer piece and still am, but I liked that this seemed clear. Maybe in the future though. I love the theme. I have an embedded version which I'll restore after the little contest.

It is a very Western overview and in general, reminds me of the bygone days of the Teddy (Rooseveldt) who went for the overarching character of a nation in the
civilized instinct that the American inherited from Europe(?).I like it because it is stimulating to one's own thinking.

The mountain of ignorance seems to overwhelm the river of truth. But a river can't be stopped. It can go over, go under or go around. A river, if blocked, can even create a body of water that can cover a mountain. Nature doesn't confuse me, but it does make me wonder. Thank you for sharing.

Ignorance is unmovable, solid, with no desire to see truth or change. Truth is forever flowing and it is up to the ones that witness it to decide to accept, either way it still flows on.

Profound truth expressed in just three short lines. The trick lies in navigating carefully on that river of truth between the canyons - and not crashing into that huge mountain of ignorance. Not an easy journey, but not impossible. Should do well in the contest.

Very philosophical 3 line poem. Sometimes ignorance is as hard to ignore as a mountain and is as hard to get around. I wish truth could flow as easily as a river.
