What a clever ending for this. Imagine the cat and the pig exchanging homes. Cats are naturally pretty fastidious, so I doubt if they'd like the pig sty at all. Excellent presentation. A very effective presentation. Looks attractive on the page. Happy New Year to you. judi

Maria, this is the way it is with many people. We want what others have or do not have and can become miserable if we were to change places. Blessings for a good new year, Patricia

Haha! No, I wouldn't like to live in a pigsty either. This is a cute story, and the ending was quite unexpected. Nice job. Best wishes for a great 2018!

Hi Maria Jose, a great little story of what I first thought were two small boys swapping homes, and then I realised it was two cats. Wonderful morale in your little fairytale. Very good entry for the event. Happy New Year. All best. Ulla:)))

Thanks for reading, Ulla. BTW. It's not two cats, it's a cat and a pig. ;)

I like the fable you have created. Some people have to learn what is it like living lower than what they are used to. It makes them appreciate what they are missing and sometimes strive to get back what they are used to as well.

Hi MJ,

Nice little piece here. the reveal is well-realised.

Strangely enough, pigs are actually very clean animals and the mud is a purification/cleansing ritual...lol

All the best

Good morning, Maria: This story has a great moral to it. Always be happy with what you have and if you are not happy with what you have, do not take someone else's happy but make your own. (LOL)

George should have cleaned his own house and poor Luke now obviously wishes he never switched homes, not even for a minute. (lol)

This is a great short story and I love the ending. Have a great day!
