I love the way you and your brothers relationship are described here, super happy memories of the park and swings- and the drive in which I have never experienced-I would still love to go and carry on as I did as a child- happy times kindest regards Meia xx

I remember the playground being as popular as the movie! I love your description in this poem - it really took me back to the good old days. Drive-ins are hard to find here in MI. Wishing you all the best in 2018.

Yes, yes, yes, Cheryl! The playground in front of the screen was as popular as the movie. One reviewer who went to a drive-in with his family used to send the kids to the playground so that he could make out with his wife in the car. Thank you for your review.

In my opinion, this rhyming poem is remarkable in its smooth rhythm and rhyme, in addition to its nostalgic reference for me. I know they still exist, but it's been forever since I've actually been to or seen one. My memory is one of casual theater and warm comfort...

Oh, thank you, evesayshi, for your generous, six star review of my nostalgic poem. I just discovered that an active drive-in is thirty minutes from my home! I can't wait. It's been forty years. Thank you for your review and for complimenting my poem as remarkable in its smooth rhythm. I appreciate it.

You are so welcome, Andre - thank you for sharing such a delightful memory, and have fun for us all when you visit the theater near your home - we'll be enjoying the experience with you in spirit...Eve

Yes, Eve, I am doing a "Coco"/"Star Wars" double feature tomorrow. It feels like a dream. I did not realize how much I missed drive-ins until I posted my twenty-five year old poem.

I hope you enjoy your nostalgic experience and evening for us all, Andre - thank you again for sharing...Eve

Thank you, Barbara, for your review. I am glad my poem brought back memories. I still have a drive in thirty minutes from where I live in California and plan to go there.

Namaskar from a 13 year old Indian
A short, crisp, magical spell is how I would describe your beautiful creation!
Congratulations

Hello SC, what a great poem--succinct and with clever concrete images! I loved how you condensed such a great concept of old and modern in this short write. It reminds me of Williams's Wheelbarrow poem. Outstanding word economy and phrasing in this jam packed write.

Yes, yes, yes, catch22, I love Williams' Red Wheelbarrow poem and can see why mine reminded you of his. We used concrete imagery and broke up one line at intervals to slow the poem down. One reviewer wanted me to write on and on, but this is not that kind of poem. It is, as you said, about word economy and painting pictures and moods with a few strokes.
Thank you for your generous, six star review and comparison to Williams. I appreciate it.

The Swan still flies except in the dead of winter in Blue Ridge, Ga. No swings.
And they dropped the intermission Bingo. Memory lane indeed. Excellent.

Yes, LIJ Red, memory lane indeed. I am glad I have an active drive-in thirty minutes from home and plan to visit it. I don't know if it has intermissions, but it has double features. Thank you for your review.

This is a good metaphoric poem about a thing of the past, the drive in movie. I don't think many youngsters have seen a movie in this method. It was an experience.
Keep writing
Happy New Year.

Yes, Joan, drive-ins are quite an experience. I am cheered to learn that a drive-in exists thirty minutes from my home. They played the film "Coco" last night. I am glad the youngsters there saw a movie in this method.
Thank you for your review. I will keep writing.

Oh, yes, Dolly, my brother and I were rivals to get to the last swing before the screen. Thank you for your review and best wishes.
