I see this as a wonderful poem about two brothers. My brother is one of my true heroes. Steady and sober where I am impulsive and emotional. May your heart and home be filled with all of the joys this festive season brings. Have a wonderful New Year!

I've always thought that drive-ins were something of the past and were long gone. Crazy to think that they're still around. Even though I've never been or even seen one, I can sense the adventure and thrill of a good time through your words. Very nice.

Yes, JD, when I searched online for a picture to accompany my poem, I teared up when I saw a 1996 photo of the demolition of the drive-in I frequented in my youth, but I cheered when I learned that another drive-in exists thirty minutes from my home. They played "Coco" and "Star Wars" tonight and I want to see a movie there soon. Thank you for your review.

Ahh...How nostalgic, Andre, Yes, they do still exist, we have a couple where I live now. I grew up with them on the Island, where they now cease to exist. Love the metaphor of the metal talking trees, lol, well done, my friend:) ~Kerry

Yes, Kerry, I viewed those drive-in talk boxes from a child's perspective in terms of height and imagination at that period. I plan to patronize the drive-in thirty minutes from my home! Thank you for your review.

I really like your poem. It evokes memories of the same experience with my brothers and sister. It was so much fun. Your words were perfect and descriptive for this poem. Thanks for the memories

Yes, yes, yes, Sugarray77, many reviewers had the same experience at the drive-ins' playgrounds. One father told me he sent his kids there during the movie so he could make out with his wife in the car! Yes, such memories. Thank you for your review.

Very nice poem tells a story, creates a strong mental image, and brings back happy memories - drive-ins are great! :-) No errors, but I think you can delete the comma after 'talking' if you wish. That's it. Great job. Happy New Year!

Thank you, Kathleen, for your review of my poem which brought back happy memories. I will take another look at that comma which I added at the last minute. Thanks again and have a happy New Year.

Even if drive-ins still are out there, you delved deep into your past to come up with that memory - unless you and your brother are in remarkable shape.
Happy New Year, Andre!

Don, you don't know how deeply I delved into my past to come up with this memory. The poem is about twenty-five years old. I wrote it in my twenties as I looked back upon my childhood. The poem remained forgotten in a binder of poems and stories until I rediscovered it recently. When I wrote the poem, drive-ins still existed; now they are few and far between. Their rarity and their presence in the collective memories of people our age enhances its nostalgic feel. Thank you for your review.

This must be a happy memory Andre. In my country drive-ins have extinct for some years now,( I think there may be still one operating) I can remember piling into the boot (trunk in America) of a car, so as not to pay entry. Well done, beautiful memories and asked in a fine poem, blessing for the new year, Roy

Yes, Roy, beautiful memories. I was saddened to learn that the drive-in of my childhood where this poem takes place was demolished in 1996, but I am gladdened to learn that one of the last four active drive-ins in California is located thirty minutes from my home! I plan to go there. Thank you for your review and have a blessed new year.

This was a very nice and meaningful poem to people of our generation. I truly miss those drive-in movies and I see there are some still around. It was delightful to read.

This is a very well written poem about drive ins. We still have them where I live in Tennessee. You used very good descriptive wording and very good imagery with the colorful picture! Blessings, Teri
