A very well-written story. We do not really know when our time will come. When we are in a dangerous situation and we survive it is a definite sign that it was not our time.

This is very good, Bill. Your style is very good and unmistakable. This should do very well in the contest. I've read the others. This in the running. Good luck.

The surrealism of it all, perfectly describes how it was. Quick action, rapid fire, alarms going off, choppers killed in air plunging toward earth, does not prepare the soldier for the crash and need to jump out firing, just to stay alive. Climbing back in for the M-60 was probably the only thing that saved part of that crew. FUBAR, is the best way to describe the situation.

This story is clearly depicted, violence and accident took place and went on, but fortunately the author saved his life after hospitalization, a war front scene is nicely captured; I liked. DR ALCREATOR

Many war stories and many never to be told. Been there, done that and none is meant to be remembered. Sad times for America. We lost so many.
