You know Patty that is the most beautiful tradition for a family I've ever heard of and this year I am going to do the same. Loved the poetry as well. It made me feel peaceful. xoxo deborah

I met a girl from the Phillipeans and asked if she had all her Christmas shopping done. She said I don't do as much as most Americans. In the Pillipeans, It's all about Jesus.

Love the artwork and a beautiful poem to celebrate the season and the Savior's birth. I like the human and God line, reminding us of His power and might.

The Star Of Bethlehem is also called the Guiding Light. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is very good imagery.

    Hi, Teri;
    Thank you so much for reading my poem. Feel free to take the tradition into your family as well. Children love birthday parties, and its a wonderful way for them to learn WHO is the Reason for the Season,

I like this rictameter and it is a great entry for this contest. I love the tradition you have with your family. What a lovely idea to bake a birthday cake. I wish you all the best in this contest.

    Hi, Sasha;
    Thank you so much for reading and reviewing this poem for the Christmas poetry contest. The tradition of the cake for Jesus has been one I've clung to for over twenty years. Both of my children embrace it in their adult years. Even Gregory, who lives in Minneapolis and has other members of his community who gather together on Christmas day, and they, too have a birthday cake in honor of Him,

I really like the tradition you have with your children singing "Happy Birthday, dear Jesus" on Christmas Day. This poem summarizes His birth very well and should appeal to young and old readers.

    Hi, Rod;
    Thank you for reading and I'm glad you appreciate my tradition. When I first proposed the idea to the extended family of my husband - who we were 'demanded' to spend Christmas with for years - it was looked down upon. (This was a Catholic family and their traditions were centered around presents and drinking.)

    I'm happy to say my children embraced the tradition. My son, who lives in Minneapolis has an extended family of fellow loners, and they all celebrate Christmas together. They, too, have cake in celebration of Christ's birthday.

    I feel He needs to be honored - it IS His Birthday,

Patti,

Good poem.
I like that you started a tradition of baking a birthday cake -- that seems like a very good and delicious teaching tool. :P
Have a great season!

    Hi, Nome;
    Thank you so much for reading my Christmas poem entry.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I think teaching children about Jesus is the only way they will know how wonderful He is,
