Beautiful memories portrayed in a dance of words that warmly float down the page pirouetting from the first date, the first child, the endless days of two people in love; a love that even sweet parting can never be torn asunder.
Well done

I like your poem and the sentiment and presentation although I have a different experience of Poincettia having live on a Poinsettia Ave around where they grew to nearly tree size in the back garden.

Oh Patty, a very lovely poem written for friends. The ending took me by surprise - so sad. But it does not detract from the beauty of the poem, dominated throughout by poincettias telling a story that covers many years. Very well told and I enjoyed the read. Lovely piece Patty. Warm regards Dorothy xx

I want your coffin to be surrounded by the beauty of your favorite flower

Only one who has lost a spouse can appreciate the emptiness. A funeral, a memorial, each holiday alone, the anniversaries as they pass, only reinforce that sense. It will diminish over time, though that absence will always be there. Pity those so lost that they never appreciate the reality their partner surely wished for them.
Live long and write well,

Oh wow what a way to think and a great idea. Very well stated and a very nice tribute to one that was so close to you for you to know what would bring a smile.

What a lovely tribute to a dear friend, Patty. I very much enjoy how you've brought your poem around full circle from youth to death and a recognition of love and friendship throughout that time.
I'm sure your friends appreciate your effort greatly.

Hi, Gloria;
This was a write truly inspired from above. I sent it to the husband last night and he would like me to read it at the funeral tomorrow. I don't think I will be able to get through it,

Patty, this seems to be written through the eyes of a male. Or? I say this because of the mention of somebody born, and date.
I really like that the whole thing is built around the poinsettias.
Lyrically beautiful. A little bit of rhythm lost near the end, but I thought the whole thing beautiful.
Bravo.
My best wishes.

Hi, RG;
Yes, it is from the viewpoint of the husband about his wife. I so appreciate your time to read and review,

This starts out so sweet and ends so tragically. The man truly loved his wife and went out of his way to make her smile. Now, she smiles from Heaven. I have a friend who for Christmas one year, bought his wife 100 poinsettias.

Your poem was a delight. I can't tell you how many Christmases have passed that I've seen poinsettias and thought of my Mother. No, she wasn't perfect but even after forty plus years she's been dead, seeing a poinsettia brings a warm feeling to me. My Mother loved them too. Thank you for helping me think of her once again.
