This poem starts somewhat dreamy about love but immediately gets very sharp at observing the natural world around. The words flow due to the internal rhyme and alliteration. It seemed to wrap around so it works as a very loving message for the reader. Very enjoyable read.

There are many different kinds of love. I'm writing my next book about love poems. Love scares me for many different reasons but it is something we have to do in order to be happy. Without love we're just cold, hardened people.

I love your style in the question then several stanzas giving an answer and each beginning the same way. Even with the reference to the original song as your title you give a new unique way of answering this question, both from a spiritual way and from the basic of skills of 'children's faces as they run to a Christmas tree'. You bring the idea of love from many angles - human, animal, plant etc. Nicely done.
