Hi Craig, this is a powerful poem about the long lasting emotional wounds that abuse can inflict on its victims. I liked the punctuation choices in this write and you turned a cliché on its head to make a statement. Great use of word economy as well.

Thanks very much for the understanding review, Pam. It seems to be a hot topic in the news at the moment, from a number of angles. Wouldn't it be great if everyone was just nice to each other? Cheers, Craig

Wow, you made great usage of the syllables and words with such poignant write. Good word economy.

Usually, time heals most wounds, easing the pain, hurt, frustration, etc. It is usually left up to us how we deal with certain circumstances. Do we hold on to anger and bitterness, carrying the weight of negativity and making ourselves continued victims? Do we seek God or counseling to hep us to deal with pain and hurt? Sometimes we can't change situations, but we can change our reactions to actions.

Thank you for such a profound commentary poem. Good luck in the contest.

There is definitely a great deal of truth in what you say, and sage advice. Allowing resentment to fester can be self-destructive, for sure. On the other hand, I don't think it is up to anyone else to dictate how and when (or even if) someone gets over a hurt. Thanks for a thoughtful review.

It's true that time does not always heal wounds, and grief has to take its course before peace finally descends, and forgetting never really happens, love Dolly x

I have heard the three words of this posting for more years than I care to count. In fact I have used these three lines quite a few times. Sorry, this is not new.

    Sad.

LOL - you re-rated it downwards. Nice, but why stop at two? Just wondering to which three words you're referring. If it's "time heals all wounds", that's four words. It's also exactly my point that those words are not original -= which is why it begins with "Who said". You have a great day now.

They may have lied, but I believe they mean well when they say that. I read recently that you never get over the death of a loved one. We live differently. I think it's the same for all hurts.

Good syllables in all the right places. Love the picture that puts in the mindset of your message. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a good entry for the 2-4-2 poetry contest.
The picture is touching and the poem sad and matches the picture.
Good luck to you with the competition.
Sharon
