If you loved me in the fall it would be great but love me all of the time. Your poem is sweet and the words are flowing like a love song. The picture appropriately gives that feeling that feeds my imagination with the poem. The fall is truly a great time to walk together among all of the colors creating memories of walks together for years to come. NICE!

A good contest entry, but it seems like you're working too hard to be poetic. It's only my dumb opinion, but I think the poem would read better if was not so flowery.

I truly appreciate your taking the time to read "If I Did Love" and comment, Thomas. Perhaps you are right, but I hope the voters do not share your opinion.

I really liked the idea, as well some beautiful phrases here, yet, I can't but help think that you might use "you" instead of "thee," for when you use archaic words, you must try to follow throughout, or it works against the write.

The repeating line with "thee" seems so detract from the rest in each of the stanzas, I think using "you" would form that bridge a little better, for it is a lovely write.

My best wishes.

I really appreciate your taking the time to share my poem, RGstar, and your praise and suggestions are much appreciated. I know the term is archaic, but to me there is something more romantic and intimate about "thee"."

This is lovely :) I hoped you'd change the last line to declare that you do love thee in all seasons. I love the art that sets the mood. I love your use of music terms like chorales, and serenade. I'm unsure of canticle as I can't find it in my Oxford dictionary. I thought it was a musical word??? I love your all around soft and romantic poetry. Best wishes in the contest.

Thank you so much, Joy, for your high praise of my love poem. A "canticle" is a song, poem, or hymn, specially of praise.

In my opinion, a lovely, somewhat solemn view of love - solid in its fluid movement and striking in its presentation and complementary image. I found the poem smooth in rhythm and easy in its rhyming sound - fully compliant with the prompt. Best of luck in the contest...

Thank you for your very thoughtful review and kind praise of my love poem. I meant the poem to be ironic not solemn as he obviously loves this woman quite a bit.

A serene tranquil write of loves sweet caress and the warmth it brings as Autumn winds impress and breezes freeeze, but not inside the hearts of lovers under the covers, perfect words, love Dolly x

A very well-written love poem. When lovers walking together through the lane hand in hand, we always think back about our first love in our youth, some survive the test of time and others are lost.
