A very good poem about O.C.D. I know several people that suffer with this disorder. I'm pleased that you have gotten over it, well almost. Thanks for sharing.

This is a good entry for the 'Feelings' writing prompt entry.
I think that maybe it gives us a wee bit of insight into that life.
Good luck to you with the competition.

Ã? very well-written poem. It s normal to have some fear otherwise we will do many things without thinking about the consequences. On the other hand we should not allow fear to control our every move.

That's true..but sometimes it's so overwhelming that it's hard to break free from it. I'm so lucky to have had a mom that recognized what was going on. Thanks again for reading.

Isn't that odd, the way OCD is? I have extreme OCD when it comes to doing things a certain way. Example: I can't sit down to watch TV if the rug in front of it is the least crooked. Bless your mom for breaking the spell. This is wonderful. Blessings....

hello mystery writer. I did not know or appreciate how difficult it is to have this disease called OCD. I've heard it bounced about but, had no real concept what these people were dealing with until I read this. It is wonderfully written and lets a reader experience just for a moment what it is to be in the other's shoes. Good luck in your contest. xoxo Kiwi

Aww, this is terribly sad. I can't imagine. I have a nephew with OCD. It started for him at age five... no rhyme or reason, just brain matter kicking in the wrong places at the very worst times.

So glad your mother helped.

Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem. It Much have been so much harder for someone so young. It's been years since it first happened and I still catch myself repeating movements when I'm scared or worried. I don't think it ever goes completely away.

I believe one of the best depictions of OCD was performed to perfection by actor Jack Nicholson in the film, As Good as it Gets.
Such an affliction must be horrible to have to deal with.
I can only imagine.

Our minds can play tricks on us when we are in a state of shock and grief can penetrate deep into our psyche and destroy our normal routine. Your poem highlights OCD brought on by extreeem stress and I could feel your fear, well written and poignant, love Dolly x

I really appreciate this poem and had a laugh when I logged in and saw it. I live with one of those that have this illness, and he has a great sense of humor in use mostly as a reality buffer. Wish I had a 6 for you.

You have written a very good poem, but (the dreaded but) it would have benefitted from some stanza breaks. You can't read poetry straight through like this is written. I'm sure you know where the pauses belong, but your readers don't unless you indicate them.
