Hello Kahpot,
It's a nice short piece of poetry meeting the required norms, and transparently depicting its theme.
A tough task indeed!

Rates up there with, "how do you tell that an attorney is lying" When he moves his lips. And then so many of these wonderful ladies and gentlemen are also lawyers, so what can one expect?
Well done

I agree with your sentiments, but as an old time conservative writer of English, beg for "his or her" instead of "their" I wonder if any one else will object. And, actually, since I am a female, I would have put just "his." But that's being sexist which is not allowed these days. B.B. Rose

Thank you, and I thought of putting "His" but then thought there are many Female politicians, so I was stumped****kahpot

Short but sweet, making a strong conviction statement. Writer hopes next politician opens his or her mouth will be telling the truth. Strong contrast of the words "lie" and "truth" brings emphasis to leading the people correctly. truly, liberty justice

A very well-written Antonym poem. It is one of the hardest things for a politician, to tell the truth, and act on their words to prove they will do what they said at any cost.

I do agree with the message of the poem which seems to say that politicians lie. But I do think they lie when they "open their mouths." (suggest mouths not mouth). And though the meaning is opposite in "lie" vs " true," one is a verb or a noun and the other is an adjective. I would think you would want both adjectives or both nouns.

I see exactly what you mean. I am so done with politics, and am getting to where I could care less...I'll just water my flowers in the summer, watch the starry skies in the winter. But, this is so true. Blessings....

In my opinion, so sad, but true. It shouldn't be this way, and your poem brings this home, succinctly, with no hostility, just a simple statement of fact, in lyrical tone - complies perfectly and agreeably with the prompt. Best of luck in the contest...
