A very well-written acrostic poem. Depression is one of the most difficult conditions of mankind to understand. There is seldom reason for the pain a sufferer feel but they do feel pain.

Thank you very much for your supportive review. One of the psychosomatic symptoms is pain. It?s miserable, like a black foggy cloud hanging around your head..

Hi, Trisha;
Thank you for sharing your entry in the Acrostic Poetry contest. Your subject is one I'm unfortunately familiar with. You did a good job of describing the situation. Good luck in the contest,

Depression is a terrible thing, and unlike a physical injury you cannot put a bandage on it. Thankfully I don't suffer from it but I have witnessed it at first hand.
Your poem conveys the enormity of this illness and the total despair it brings to the sufferer.
Great job, well done.

a good strong well expressed enlightened piece of poetry
even treated depression can be a huge cross to bear
your line about pushing load uphill;-
in a moment of clarity;- if only one could drop the load and have no need to push it with strain
I have seen in many that when that fine easy going moment of release appears;- it seems the victims suddenly feel so free and wonderful that they forget to unload and when the depths open up again the same old story is written in jet black ink on their minds
Blessings to those who suffer especially those who suffer silently and no one knows
have a smiley day

Hi smileycloud, is your cloud #9 ?i hope so! You make a valid point ref,. Dropping the load. I wonder if that works for clinical as well as situational depression. Probably counseling should be paired with medical to stop the black ink return.
i worry more for the withdrawal the withdrawal factor in depression. Yes, I have been there years ago. I am blessed to be free now.
Thank you so much for reviewing
Hugs for your cloud, Trisha

This is a beautiful poem even with the deep and dark subject matter.
The picture matches perfectly.
Nicely done.
Good luck to you with the Acrostic Poetry competition.

Thanks for the insight. People that don't deal with depression need to read this. If I had review pumps, one would go toward promoting this one. Please don't lose hope. I know it may be easier said than done.
