G'day Barbara.

Good to see a post from you, my friend.

"I bet it's from Kuznetsov and it's the receipt." (Ouch! That could complicate things.)

"What does this mean? How can it be? My family didn't sell the painting. I'm positive." (Corruption is my guess.)

"according to this, they never auctioned that painting." (There ya go!)

"Of course, white always looks classy." (Not on me it doesn't. I get it dirty before we leave the house lol.)

"I'll pass, but it sounds really good." Shana took a bite of fruit that had been left on her plate." (You might want to think about this line a bit. I could be wrong as I haven't finished my morning coffee yet... but to me it sounds like somebody left some fruit on her plate. It could be spiked lol. Well not there, but anywhere else it could be. If that makes sense.)

"What's a Rabbi? Is it a type of rabbit?" (Hahahaha! Too cute.)

Another great chapter combing tension and cute humor. The finish was well timed. Saved by the bell, indeed.

Great work and I'm looking forward to the Austrian call.

Cheers Fez

Hello Barb
You know what is so good about your writing in this novel of yours is how you show tension and them how Emily -- Anderson's five year old daughter with with her curious little mind to ask questions, which to me seems to should I say breaks up the tension, then all of a sudden you leave us hanging with suspense with your last sentence.

Gert

Good chapter. Wish it was longer, but I understand. Where ya bin? Have not seen you for a while? I need to get back to writing myself. Thanks again still a very exciting and "grabbing" story.

Hi, Barbara;
Now, I'm stuck wondering what is in that package. I think you did a good job of having Shana explain to Emily the meaning of Kosher without going into too much detail.

Looking forward to the next chapter,

A few nits: '"You're correct. The carrier wanted to deliver it himself, but I assured him I'd make (sure)you got it."'

'"To be honest(+,) I have no idea.'

It's always good when a chapter, or part of a chapter, can stand alone as a story. You've managed to do that well.
The story is clear, characters are good.
Well done.
I look forward to the next piece.
Sharon

Hi, Barb

= LOL ... saved by the bell, when it came to going into detail about 'Kosher'.
= I'm enjoying Emily's character.
= Well penned installment.

= Missing a (t).
"It says he bought the pain(t)ing at an auction

= Is this a spacing issue, or FanStory gremlin? (*<*)
She studied it for a few moments. "What does this mean? How can it be?
My family didn't sell the painting. I'm positive."

Cheers, J
Have a good day/evening!

I fixed the missing 't' and the spacing issue. I changed that line after I posted and I guess a space squeezed it's way in. LOL Thank you for the catches.

So, Kuznetsov has produced a receipt, saying he purchased the painting at a popular purchasing place in Austria, but later find that no such record exists, so Philip is asked to investigate further, Emily asks what kosher means...then saved by the doorbell and a package.. Well done Barnara, blessings, Roy
Typo : but I assured him I'd make (sure) you got it 2: it says he bought the pain(t)ing... 3: "Would someone tell (me)what kosher means?

Yes, I want to know if the receipt is real too. That would be a big item to add to their list of questions. I certainly wouldn't trust the Russians, no matter what they submit as evidence of ownership. Nice work with this chapter. I enjoyed it very much.
