This is so nice! Warm, festive, welcoming... that's the best thing, I think, just how welcoming both your poem and the festival is! That last full stanza before the end is my favorite! Lovely tribute to a lovely tradition!

Lively, enchanting, and very entertaining introduction ( to me) to a Diwali festival. The festivity, joy and gratitude are expressed in honesty and clarity. All in great rhyme and rhythm.

I would most certainly come if I could! It sounds wonderful, and I love learning about different cultures. I've discovered that I adore ethnic food...it's the tempting spices!!! Loved this!!
Blessings...

I like this poem because it reminds me of my days in India. However, I find it a bit choppy and the assonance and the rhyme seems a bit forced. For example,

With delight and gratitude, we joyfully dine.
Every feeding before us; "Ummm! ... just fine."

Also, there are some grammar problems. For example,

Every mother's child, have taken their places ("Every mother's child has taken his/her place" or better yet, "Children have taken their places.")

Overall, a good job. It made me happy reading it.

This Contest Winner was well written and Rich in Theme and Imagery.
It read Well and Flowed well with no grammar issues as well.
Adjective Content and Objective Content were both excellent and exceptional while Descriptive Measures aligned perfectly.

Hi Rhonnie. This is a fine poem about a Diwali Festival of Lights celebration. It's bright, colourful and one can feel the joy.

One small typo:

Diya dinning (dining) lamps are lit.

I can see why this poem won. :)

Thank you for reviving your winning entry. You did a wonderful job of describing the joy of Diwali.

The rhyme and rhythm was wonderful and I learned a great deal about this Hindu holiday.
