A sad write, we should all commemorate the loss of life of all soldiers who fought for their country and died in war, a great tribute, best wishes, love Dolly x

I've read a lot of these entries today and I really like this one. Life sometimes can be just blood in the dust. We must cherish each day for those who gave their lives.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.

A very well-written six-word poem to remind us to remember the veterans and soldiers who protect our country and keep us safe in our homes over the years and never forget those who lost their lives.

Yes, the sacrifice our vets have made for this country should never be taken for granted.
As a veteran of the U.S Marine Corps myself, I know all too well what those of us who survived combat owe those who did not make it back home alive.
We owe them everything...
Excellent, Brigitte.

How wonderful! The picture and the message you sent is loud and clear. Armed with only six words, I can feel the emotion so clearly. I have read several of these pieces that are so difficult for me, yet you make it look easy!

Thank you so very much for this kind review. It is difficult to tell a story in 6 words. The image made this come alive and I thank Ski-II for making it possible with this submission.

A clever selection of words here particularly "ineffable" that is a superlative in itself and therefore normally requires an adjectival noun to make its meaning clear, an ineffable beauty or an ineffable disgust. Here we have an ineffable cocktail or a mixture that paseth all understanding. The very idea that blood should or could mix with dust is too awful to conceive.

Very appropriate for Veterans Day.

Thank you Pantygynt for this review. It seemed appropriate for this submission. The mixture exists too frequently on our battlefields. Will people ever learn to live in peace? It is difficult to tell as story in 6 words. The image from Ski-II made it possible for this piece.

For us, seeing the blood of our countrymen in the dust, true enough. But yet, a Pattonesque thought, it is the very place for the blood of the foes of human rights and freedom. Excellent shortshort poem.

I appreciate what you are trying to communicate, but I wouldn't have grasped the meaning without the underlying explanation.
Best of luck in the contest.

Brigitte,
Your 6 words invoke a feeling of war & its consequences for all. The art is haunting. Good job & thanks for sharing. Jan

Thank you supportive fan friend. Without the art, it would lose meaning. I thank Ski-II for this haunting image.
