It sounds so interesting to have one's DNA tested. I am fascinated how people think they are mostly of one group yet they belong to another. I enjoyed reading your story and Italy sounds so beautiful.

Yes, it was so surprising to find out that my predominant heritage was Italian. I have been researching my genealogy since 1984--and most of my lines are French--going back 8-10 generations!!! Thanks for reading and responding.

This is a well written piece and I wish you a great journey.
I'm sceptical about the DNA testing though. I wish I could believe that the results would be 100% accurate but I have my doubts.
Anyways, enjoy your trip and good luck in the contest.

I have used both Ancestry and 23 and Me--and basically got the same results. I've done genealogy research since the mid-eighties--and I was really surprised with the results. Seven of the eight families I've researched are French. Thank you for reading and responding--again.
