I enjoyed your interpretation of the picture. It was an exciting story full of spooktacular thrills and chills. I especially liked the part with the witches zig zagging in and out of the trees. Great spooky imagery! This was a fun read! Happy Halloween to you! :)

Good idea to lock the door. As Stephen King said, "Sometimes they come back." So, better safe than sorry or you may join them and wander the streets with a sweet tooth.

Hi Thomas Ha ha no will keep the door shut , we do not really celebrate Halloween anyway not an Aussie Tradition except the youngsters are getting into it so better have some lollies available. Cheers Christine

Very enjoyable tale of "dreaming/nightmaring" interrupted by
a much kinder reality. . .while lingering fears still held court :-)

I thought, at first, that there was a "meter snag" in the third line
of each stanza, but then I saw the pattern develop stanza-to-stanza
and applauded the ingenuity.

Great Halloween Tale :-)

Hi Leineco, Thanks for your review No the meter is based on a famous Australian Poet Banjo Paterson who wrote many poems in this form .'The man from Snowy River' one of hist best so I sometimes use this style and thought this fitted. I enjoyed making up this story and I wil keep the door shit LOL Cheers Christine

A very enjoyable poem to read. You have accounted for all the Halloween creatures and did a great job doing so. Only suggestion I have is changing the colour of the font or background. It is quite hard on the eyes.

Now, THAT'S true creativity! I love your attention to the sky and your expressive scary poem
I learned that I'm still too literal when using a picture. Anyway you did a great job with your free verse. Thanks for sharing

Hi Trisha Thank you so much for your great review and rating I really enjoyed your poem too Hugs back Cheers Christine. These challenges give everyone a chance to create so dont be too hard on yourself . I like a literal take on many images

BOO! G'day Christine. Scared ya didn't I?

I love the touch of banjo, who was the first poet I ever read and the reason I started writing poetry.

Now, you are getting a touch scary with this beautiful answer to the group challenge and I loved it.

Great job.

Cheers Fez

Hi Fez. Sending a big hug Thanks so much for you lovely Six Stars and yes you did scare me but in a great way LOL i had fun with this one and yes like you I love Banjo and his meter and often do one on this vein although I deliberately didnt rhyme this one so I like it as is but he is one of my favourite poets and my Dad used to read his poem to me also so how could one go past the master. I did one about Geofrrey Eldelson and Bryne a couple of years ago when they were hot to trot but havent published it yet may do so . I always enjoy your reviews and friendship and support. Hope all is going well and look forward to you next instalment ( PS Also time for a Fez poem I miss them ) Hi to Delia x Christine

Hi Barb, Thanks my friend for your review I enjoyed thinking this up and hope others like it also I can't wait to read everyones poems These challenges are fun to do . We don't celebrate Halloween here much Although it has become more popular over the last few years. I have never had any kids come to my door but I did see a photo of my Grandies with their pumpkins. LOL. Door locked Ha ha. Cheers Christine
