Yes this poem gets to the heart of the matter as to why we break out, as it were, in verse 'Pouring forth from deep inside'- what other artistic medium would allow 'The soul stripped bare for all to see'.

I wish I had six stars left to give you as I love your poem. I agree with you, poetry (well also prose) writes itself, it has a life of its own.
I like your rhyme, it's natural. You have what it takes. I write rhymed poetry sometimes, but the results are terrible.

isn't that the truth! they do seem to just write themselves sometimes. and these are superb lines, "A fleeting glance, an observation,
a mood, a smell, a conversation." this poem obviously didn't write itself--a talented artist did--6 stars!

I loved this J it's a really fine write that I am sure everyone can relate to. I enjoyed the rhyme scheme, predominantly AABB with couplets of AA. I enjoyed this read as I love to write in rhyming verse.

Hello, Jenintorre: Who would not agree with such a well-written rhyming poem about poetry. You have included the many subjects that as Poets we choose to write about and what causes our muse to write. This is great poetry. Just the other day, I heard in my mind a poem about poetry. I scurried to write it down but have not yet revisited that poem. I was satisfied to see that you have written your poem about poetry so well. This is a wonderful entry for this rhyming contest.
