It seems that most of our elected officials are fully engrossed in themselves and their generally harmful agenda rather than caring for those who elected them, and care even less for those they "represent" who disagree with them. Staying in power is their main focus. You cover the majority of the public's view quite well in that single line. Well done.

There are only two kinds of people -- Service-to-self and Service-to-others.
Those who have ruled the world for centuries, and still do, are the latter. But the former can take that control away from them and achieve both peace and enlightenment if we simply just do it. It is a mere matter of saying, "Enough is enough!" and realizing that it will take swift concerted action rather than endless complaining, meaningless votes, or any other slow process, while they keep dividing us and throwing us into chaos with their endless stream of manufactured calamities. They now have the technology to alter even the weather against us, but there aren't enough of them to stop masses of people from simply trampling them out of existence.
