This 5-3-5, Yech, has the correct syllable formatting and places us all back in the seat with the ultimatum to eat the spinach or else. It never got any easier.

Hello Ogden: I get your drift. When I was a kid, I had an indispensable dog named, Pal. Tell ya' how he got his name? Listen to me and Mom: "Put the dog out." Me: "Why?" Mom: "It's dinner time." Me: "So?" Mom: "So...he's not eating your dinner tonight, you are." Me: "We're having..." Mom: "Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and..." Me: "Spinach." Mom: "Put the dog out, little boy." Pal was hiding under the table next to my chair. Mom: "I wondered why that (censored) dog went under the table at dinner time." My dog was my, pal. Why? Because he ate my homework. But better yet, he ate all the, "YUCKY" stuff that Mom shoved in front of me. Terrific poem, Ogden, keep up the good work.

LOL! It takes a few years before kids' taste develops to the point they like something--especially veggies. Peas is another one kids don't seem to like. A good entry for the contest because it has a lot of truth to it. Marilyn

Here's a work for elementary school children everywhere to read. 99.99% of them can relate. It'll be the biggest support group ever and you've brought their motto. Well done and good luck.

Thanks, Teols, for your encouraging comments. (Too bad all those kids can't vote.)

Such a cute little poem about spinach! Perfect 5-3-5 syllables with an added rhyming touch. Liked this one very much! Great job! Good luck in the contest!
