This is a great story and entry for the contest. Interesting, humorous and well written. I found the next to last paragraph confusing and not sure what it meant. Suggest leaving that paragraph out and ending with:
"...my image forever etched in his mind. Never believe a witch."

Thanks for the compliments and suggestion. Marilyn. The premise of the pice is that the witch says her career is over, as of this worst ever Friday the 13th. Without that next to last paragraph, she's doing fine. Ironically, the reviewer before you particularly liked the ending, and said, "Her comeuppance works well."
It was a difficult conclusion to plot, so I can see why reading it it may also take some contemplation.

As I often point out, modern witches are lovely people.
This is specifically stated to be an evil witch, so I'm mollified :)
The core of the story is really good. You set up just how nasty a trick the witch plays, although not all of it sounds bad, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
Her comeuppance works well. I like the ending and the story overall. Your text is a little small though.
