This is a very nicely composed poem using the words provided for the contest. The image is beautiful and tranquil and matches your well described poem. Marilyn

Good morning, anonymous Poet:
This is also a very good "Use these Words" contest entry. You have made very good use of these word. The picture is deeply beautiful, full of color and life and the words to your poem allows me to envision myself there. Very nicely done.

Dear Anonymous Poet;

Dear Mystery Author,
This poem is clever and well-conceived -- unfortunately, it is not well-executed. *smile* You have a couple of issues that need to be taken care of before the voting begins.
First of all, you have neglected to use two of the words from the required list. I didn't see 'running' or 'drink'. I imagine you probably forgot and edited them right out! hahahaha! But that is easily fixed.
As another small note - I don't think that's a 'river' in your picture. Where I live, we would call that a 'creek' or a 'stream', though that may just be me.
Anyway, good luck in your contest!

Caught the mistakes and corrected. You must have seen a per-corrected copy. I may reconsider the picture.
See below:
I cross an old battered cement bridge
that spans an eager, running river
racing to join the immense ocean
Thirsty, I hop to the river bank
cup my hands, dip into the stream, bring
crystalline relief to my lips, drink
the still sweet water before it turns
brackish when it churns with the salt sea

Much better!
