I sat down and wrote these words,
"I do not care where pathways lead,
I know my God walks by my side.
I do not fear approaching storms --
when God in me the Lord doth bide.
Country's comprise people Dear Vance, Don't let your pride tell you America is better, or has been, than anywhere else, our God loves also the world. Beautiful poem though. Remember God put Triump there! Blessings, Roy

A truly inspiring write my dear friend. All those educated people throwing the freedom that was hard won down the drain.

I am not very familiar with American politics, but I know that the current President is being blamed for just about everything. That is the downside of taking over a job that was not done well by his predecessor

A very well-written poem and a great political view point. There are too many who want to prescribe President Trump how to rule America and try to take him out because he have America's wellbeing at heart and not his own agenda like previous leaders.

I'm not eager to pull politics into poetry but really frustrated with the raw stupidity that seems to ooze out of every crack in anything politically related these days. While I'm not fond of Mr. Trump and I don't believe he is the answer to our problems, I did find your write to be well phrased and powerful. Yes, the same people have held the power for far too long. For some reason, dollars equal power in our Republic.

But, you and I are still okay. There's nothing wrong with being friends with someone who has a differing opinion. We simply need to agree to disagree.

In the interest of full disclosure, Vance, I must confess I'm not a Trump supporter.
But I do believe in the tenets on which America is based.
As much as he promotes those ideals, that's how much support he'll garner from me.

You make a good point: political promises often prove paper thin. As voters, we often get hoodwinked.

I think we both want a safe, secure, prosperous America. Let's hope we get it.
