Very Halloween!
This is what Halloween and 'trick or treat' are about, right? Not all good witches and candy.
For the most part it's all the goods stuff though.

This Halloween Poetry Contest entry succeeds in conjuring fear little by little as the child sees the inside of the house with all its creatures and activity. Creepy for kids. Solid near and pure rhyme with the aabb scheme. Nice work. :0 GracieAnn

This speaks the kids enjoyed all the evening in fun of having their treat and share knocking each door scavenging for candy but at night all ends, promise for treat next year; I liked.

Haha... I remember a friend of mine was waiting to be picked up to go to a Halloween fancy dress party and she was dressed as a witch. A little crowd of trick or treaters came to the door and she opened it just a tiny bit and wrapped her green painted fingers slowly around the door and poked her long, warty prosthetic nose out and said ( in her best witchy voice) Yeeess??? Those poor children dropped everything in her garden and fled, extremely fast. She never found out who they were and they never returned for their goodies.
Your poem reminds me of that story. Of the children encountering a real witch whilst trick or treating and running away as fast as they can on discovering all the vile things in her home and wondering what she might do to them.
