:-) This should be sub-titled "Melancholy" . . . as that is the
essence of what these evocative few lines portray.

In fact - it could almost be the perfect submission for a
Story in a Poem contest. . .it paints such a complete picture.

Nicely done Patty!

thank you for the lovely, shining SIXTH star! I'm touched by your words, 'it paints such a complete picture.'

Maybe I should watch sad movies more often!

I Really loved reading this Katauta poem. it is very sad and poignant. Sadly we can never turn back time. Well done. I wish you good luck in the competition.

I think we have all felt like this at some time Patty. I have so many happy memories of my husband and would love to turn back the clock and just have ten minutes with him again, lovely words here patty, love Dolly x

This is a beautiful katauta poem you've penned, Patty. I chuckled when I read your notes, that you just watched a sad movie, lol. It's funny cause everyone does take everything written so literal. ~Kerry

A very well-written katauta. When separated from a loved one we can only think of their lovely smile we know so well. We wish to turn the clock back, but we only have memories left.

Your poem hit the right note to me as the reader. Involving time and empathy to the feeling of the loved one connected me with emotions long lost and cherished. Beautiful piece and well presented that I had to give it a SIX rating. Thank you

In a few words, you cram in a boatload of sadness. That movie must have been pretty damn good. You nailed the 5/7/7 and this is addressed to a lover (or is it former lover) so it seems like a good Katauta. I really like it, good luck in the contest.

    Hi there;
thank you so much for the warm review. It is addressed to a former lover, and the movie did indeed start a cataclysmic flood of emotion. I appreciate your well wishes for the contest,

There's a nice echo here of 'smile' and 'time' that links this memory to the moment, so good use of form there. It might be better with some kind of an image, a symbol of that moment, more than that smile. What are you smiling about? Put it in the poem and I think its better. But of course you have to work in the space, so its a little challenging. estory

Good morning, Patty

Very poignant and very true. To be able to back to that point in one's life and experience the love that was.

The picture was made for your poem.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

That heart image is so endearing. It longs for a nice hug. Great presentation.

Great visual imagery. Well thought out and clearly written to convey a nice message about caring, loving, missing and thinking about you. Nice work :)
