The desire to turn back the clock has been frequently expressed in literature and song over the ages. Unfortunately the ability to so do seems locked in the realms of science fiction regardless of the reasons behind an individual's desire. Einstein seemed to think it might be possible at one time but I personally doubt it. the present is dependent on the past and any manipulation of the latter would inevitably result in chaos in the here and now.

It remains a good idea for those who have made a pig's ear of our past relationships though, and we can dream. This particular dream sticks to the 5-7-7 format of the classic katauta.

    Hi, Jim;
    Thank you for reading my Katauta and tribute to lost loves. I think sometimes I would love to have a time machine, but then I realize it would totally change who I am,

Memories can be a wondrous thing but then they can be hurtful too. If you want that person or thing back so bad that you pray for time to go back but it never does can be damaging to one's soul. Thanks for sharing, NB

    Hi,
    Thank you so much for reading my Katauta about lost loves. I used to wish for a time machine, but then I realized I wouldn't be me,

Every day I wish-deeply that I could turn back time. With hindsight I could have lived the most fabulous life. But we are who we are and our mistakes make us. This is a great little poem and very well written kind regards Meia xx

    Hi Meia;
    thank you so much for reading this little poem. It came to me after watching a sad movie, 'Evening,' (a personal fave,) and I just had to write about it,

You use a red background to surround the words with the color of love in this poem of lost love. It could be of a break up or of mourning the dead.

Good luck in the contest.

Keep writing

    Hi there;
    thank you so much for reading this little poem of lost love. The pain felt within the words can belong to anyone who mourns, but for me, it was the memory of a love from 'yesterday,'

This is a nicely composed poem of remembrance of past love. Illustrated and worded well. Romantic and longing. Much luck in the contest with this fine entry. Marilyn

In my opinion, a beautifully written entry - well constructed in form and smooth lyrical delivery. I appreciate Cher's song - she is one of my favorites, so I especially enjoyed the plaintive read and full presentation - thank you. It is perfect in its compliance with the prompt - best of luck in the contest...Eve

    Hi there;
    thank you so much for the lovely review. I was inspired by a wistful, sappy movie. I think its one of the best short poems I've written.
