That's cute. Poor Jim. Imagine being a confused owl. LOL Actually, I've heard they're not all that smart. Crows and parrots are a lot smarter.

I rather like the minute poem - not as easy as it looks - and i love the subject you've chosen - I love owls.

Good rhythm and rhyme to it, Patty.

Sorry about late reviewing - so much going on here.

Blessings,
Margaret

    Hi Margaret;
    I can only imagine how hectic things are for you.
    Thank you for your time to read and review. There is a new chapter in 'The Waiting Room' for you to read if you have the time.

This is a very cute poem you have penned to go with the picture this. You used very good descriptive wording and the picture went well with your words. Teri

    Hi Barbara;
    thank you so much for reading my interpretation of the 'Picture This' prompt. Isn't that the funniest looking owl you've ever seen? I found out from another reader that he is actually a character from a Japanese cartoon,

This is a clever poem about the owl. The parameters were adhered to in this submission. A very enjoyable read about an unremarkable and neglected bird. Thank you for sharing.

Hi, Patty!
I enjoyed reading your humorous poem--thanks for sharing.
I loved this stanza:
Everyone thinks he is so wise,
Look at his eyes,
He is confused, (LOL!)
His mind, abused.

Beautiful poem Patty. Your description was fabulous in it also. I love the photo of Totoro, him and his movie were delightful. Best of luck in the contest!

    Hi Chloe;
    thank you so much for the review. This little guy is 'Totoro?' I didn't know he had a movie; I thought he was just in some art,

If that poor thing is supposed to be an owl... LOL... maybe my ruined eye is the problem, but this looks a lot more like a rabbit than and owl. But the Van Gogh-esque nature of the image is great.

Your words describe a confused, abused owl well.

    Yes, the owl is really a tough image to see. I did enjoy writing the poem though.

I feel like this poem could go on a while longer. It ended too soon. What's here is good. It's enjoyable and interesting, but I was hoping for more of a payoff.
What does "Missing the mark." in this context, mean?

    Hi Marv;
    I'm sorry you wanted more. The poetic form I used only had this number of lines, and I felt the poem was complete.

    I used 'missing the mark' to convey the message that the owl isn't quite as wise as he is normally portrayed. This owl looks especially daft,
