Pungent smell of burning,
Homes are heating up,
Time for cocoa,
Wooly socks,
Cuddles,
Love.
I rather like the wooly socks, cuddles and love time of year ----
your Nonet poem makes it sound so cozy and welcome.....
well-penned, Patty - Fall Into Love - a very clever title.
good luck with the contest.

Hi Margaret;
thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I had so much fun putting this nonet together; I wanted to bring in all of my favorite things about fall within the syllable count, and I found a way!
(question is: why did you give me a 4?)
I know that when I first run out of sixes, I do it -- just naturally go to the one up from the bottom and inadvertently give out fours!)

I didn't realise I'd given you a four - a slip of the hand - sorry, Patty. Good luck with the contest, my friend.

no worries - thank you for fixing it,

Describes Fall perfectly. The cooler air at night and the smell of fireplaces in the neighborhood are what I think of.
Although, not looking forward to the cold, your poem makes the coming cold a welcome.

Good morning, Patty
Great images of the upcoming fall. Next to the awesome colors, burning leaves was one of my favorite memories. Enjoyed.
Take care and stay safe,
Ray

Wishing you well in the Contest. Loved the poem and the lovely picture you chose with it too. Every August (over here Spring approaching at that time) I would tell the Lord "Will this be my Spring?" And would you believe it I met Louise in August 1985! Sorry for rambling.

Great entry into this contest. I love all that you mention except the flannel sheets. I can't wear it against my skin. I'm like the Princess and the Pea. Can feel everything and if there is a grain of sand, I have to get up and look for it or I'm irritated all night. Wonderful writing. Good luck. xoxo Kiwi

I enjoyed your saluting your favorite season with this Nonet. Your appeal to our senses of sight, smell and touch is very appealing and the artwork you selected reinforces the mood perfectly. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

Love how this poem shows the delight of autumn! I like that it covers all kinds of autumn's colors, smells and tastes and feelings. I guess the heater coming on could cover the sense of hearing.
