This is so true Patricia! The amount of times I have thought I wished I asked my dad about this or my grandma about that. Alas, it's too late to ask them now and I have no grandchildren who may have been interested in learning

That is awfully hard today to get people to ask questions of old people because they?re so involved with their technology things. Thank you so much for your review. I appreciate it.

You are so right, Pat. I was lucky when growing up to hear lots of lessons about life in an earlier age from family friends and to be surrounded by older people with lots to teach me. I think the benefits for me have been lifelong. Thanks for sharing this.

Agreed. I do think that they do a much better job of respecting the elderly in the East. They even have seats reserved for the elderly on public transportation.
It doesn't help that are two elderly front running candidates are blubbering buffoons.
Anyways, you are 100% correct. The elderly have great wisdom and value.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to review my work. In high school, I had a couple of teachers who were older, and they had a great influence on my life that I was able to use as a mother.

Hi Patricia;
I think it is important for us to learn from the past - the past of our family, and our parents and grandparents. I think that is why I'm so determined to write Grammy's Memoirs.
Thank you for sharing,

I can remember sitting down, in my grannies bedroom, listening to her tell us about her life, she told us all kinds of things...I don't think many young people have time to do that today...there's so much to occupy their time...Its something that's come to my mind many times, even with my own grandchildren...but, regardless of whether they listened or not...I remember the things my Mom and Dad, and yes Granny told me, and my sisters. and I've said the same things to them...Life experience is a teacher, but so many young ones simply
believe any advice older people might give, is just plain "old fashioned"...When we get together my own children will tell me how mean my husband as I were when they were young...they all laugh about it now, but they also say it worked...
Thanks for sharing this with us, Pat, its something to think about, I only wish more young people would take advantage of the wisdom that comes with old age...
Warmly,
Victoria

Wise words Patricia and this is why the old philosophers writings are so poignant and interesting, it's all been done before and we keep making the same mistakes over and over again, only those who study, learn the lessons and even they dont live without regret. Love Dolly x

I worked at retirement home most of my nursing career and tried to listen to their stories. The one I'll never forget is a love story of him and his wife, it was beautiful.

I liked your philosy about Heeding Lessons from Old People.
Which is a great lesson for us older folks to read.
When I was in my teens and wanted to be Yes wild, I had my grandmother who made me sit down and she made sure I listened to her wise advice
Glad I did

Thank you Gert, for the lovely review. When I was in my teens I was one of those wild children and my mother knew the things I was doing, which I found out after I was married, yet she never sat me down ans talked to me about the pitfalls. ahead for me.
What finally got my attention was my all wise God who allowed a trial in my life. It was Him and Him alone that recovered me from the pit I had fallen in. Because of what I went through as a teen, I was a very good mother and sat my children down as soon as they were headed for trouble. Today they all thank me for being open and honest with them.

Very true, as teens we think we know more, only when we get older do we realize the wisdom of our parents and grandparents. Very well written. My only complaint is you spelled awesome as asome in the next to last line.
