Well done, author. An emotive poem written from the heart, and a 'happy ever after' note thrown into Author's notes. I wonder if you recognise that a positive poem like this lends great confidence to someone who's not feeling too good at the time they read it? As I said, well done!

Alvina, thank you so much for the six stars. They mean a lot to me. Even more than the stars is your comment about helping someone else maybe with their emotions. I do write from the heart and my heart goes out to the lonely and needy people. I was fortunate to find the love of my life. I wish this for everyone who does desire
a mate. My 55-year-old step daughter is one of the ones that has been looking for a soulmate a long time. She always says
she wants a man like her daddy. I pray she finds one.

Thank you for sharing your 'once upon a time' with me. Loneliness is a horrible thing. I am glad you also found
    your 24-year mate.

I guess that if you don't look for it, you'll never find it! What happens in the heat of the moment can sometimes weld two people together in an eternal bond. Yes - I think this counts! LOL

Hello, JustJo66.
"Lookin' for Love" was a song written by Wanda Mallette, Bob Morrison and Patti Ryan, and recorded by American country music singer Johnny Lee. It was released in June 1980 as part of the soundtrack to the film Urban Cowboy, starring Deborah Winger and John Travolta, released that year. Marcy Levy was one of the female singers who provided backing vocals on the track.
Your poem immediately reminded me of that once popular song.
Best of luck to you in the Love Poem Poetry Contest,
~Dean

Yes, I remember that song and movie. :o) I think it had something in it about "looking for love in all the wrong places".
I met my first husband in 9th-grade high school. Married him as soon as I graduated. It lasted 8 more years. A good man
but not my soulmate. I don't know why I fell in love with this man the first time I met him,..but I did.

Love works in mysterious ways sometimes, justjo.
We simply go with the flow and what our heart suggests we do then hope for the best.
    Well done.
    ~Dean :)

Thank you for reviewing my poem and the good luck wishes. Yes, I love my husband and he loves me dearly. We are still dancing across wooden floors. Only now in our den and much slower. :O)

This speaks no missing of moments for the future, now and only now as the morning light will discover how two lonely souls would forget faces and dip in love for ever dancing; I liked.

Thank you for reviewing my poem. I fell in love with him from the moment I saw him. It has been a very good and long
    dance.

I have to give this one a big fat "six' I love country music and feel this could be a song. All the emotions you capture for a "one night stand" are here in hot, flashy, drama of the moment. It made feel like I was twenty again, and just looking for love or passion. "Slow dancing across a hardwood floor" - we can only hope it turns into true love. WONDERFUL

Thank you, Val, for reviewing my poem and the six stars. I really appreciate them. It's funny but I started to enter my poem
in the song contest but decided to go for the love poem.

I am sure that a moment's passion can lead into a long term relationship. Depending on the need and passion received, it could solidify a need that was never fulfilled previously. It is possible, especially under certain extreme circumstances.

Yes, I agree with your comments. Most the time a moment's passion turns cold after a while. I am very fortunate that
mine has lasted for all these years. My husband loves me dearly and I feel the same about him. A rare thing these days.
