Very well done, hoping the muse will spur some thoughts and ideas... until the little prick breaks lose like a storm and rains on your parade! Happens to all of us. Good luck in the contest, Patty.

Absolutely excellent Tanka, Patty, (as I've learnt from Gypsy and Dean). The artwork is complementary and stunning. Rain is as part of us as the spiritualism since time immemorial when we had rain diviners and all. But we've gone overboard with out consumption and disregard for nature. Your said it wonderfully with your words. Wish you good luck in the contest! :)

Careful what you ask for, the One who sends the thunder also sends the Harveys. From what I have read about English takes on oriental forms, this tanka is excellent. It also reads well.

Nicely written tanka poem. I dislike the heat that's why I live in Oregon. But lately the weather here is even bad and in the hundreds. Horrific if you ask me. Thank you for sharing and best wishes in the contest

Hi there;
thank you so much for the lovely review. The weather here in Oregon has definitely been too hot this year, but I'm surviving - how about you?

Excellent Tanka, Patty, with a stunning picture to go with it. Yes, we all pray for rain when we've has a long spell of muggy hot weather. It's so draining. Your words say this so well. Good luck in the contest! :) Sandra xx

lovely tanka
very good imagery of a heat wave needing a storm to break the humidity
I like that the poem feels the heat clogging the flow of inspiration
have a smiley day

Good morning, Patty
Out of sixes
Your words did justice to the picture. You captured the humbling feeling towards the power and awe one experiences with a thunderstorm. Enjoyed.
Take care and stay safe,
Ray
