I haven't received notifications of your new posts for a while, so I guess you were taking a break. Glad to have you back and, hopefully, in good health. Like you say in your well-written poem:

God whispers softly:
"Come near and be warmed
And rested in my love"

Gratitude takes us a long way.

Thank you so much apky, for this lovely review!Thank you sincerely for your wonderful review!
I want you to know that I have been suffering with Alzheimer?s for several years now and I recently prayed to God to give me a message I could share with my beloved friends on FS.
This poem was given to me virtually immediately as I laid in bed, rose quickly and typed it into my computer! It was a gift from GOD and intended to help you, so please give your own private thanks in prayer. Blessings and love with sincere gratitude to you! Vance

Hi Vance. I hope you are well. As always your poem resonated with me on the topic of gratitude. If we are grateful, life is happier and more rewarding. These are my favorite lines:
"Gratitude shall deny any fears,
As the power of your joy
shall bring your only tears"
Marilyn

Nice looking presentation. Enjoyed, Grayness. BOO's favorite words: God whispers softly:
"Come near and be warmed
And rested in my love"
Then the richness of your faith
Shall carry you in joy and your
Gratitude shall deny any fears,
Depleted of nuggets.
BOO-tastic!

Yep, when I worked on a strawberry farm, I helped take care of an elderly man who had this illness. He was bedridden,in his last stage. So I understand and I write like you, spontaneously, I type when a thought comes, so I do not forget. Blessings back to you. BOO

A very well-written poem. Gratitude is the key to live in faith and hope even when it seems we have nothing left. When we are grateful for what we have, we will realize we have enough.

Bravo, my dear Vance.

This is eloquent and inspired.

I love the meaning, the humility and gratitude in tone and tenor and the smooth enjambment read aloud. However, some punctuation nits hamper flow. Also, one spag in that SENDS should be SEND because the subject is plural.

Suggestions below:

As Father Time sweeps away
The ashes of the fires of youth
And the cold chills of life's
Newly realized dimensions,(no ,)
Sends(Send) the aging heart
To the lands of darkness,
Fear, and uncertainty...
God whispers softly:
"Come near and be warmed
And rested in my love(.)"
Then the richness of your faith
Shall carry you in joy(,) and your
Gratitude shall deny any fears,
As the power of your joy
shall bring your only tears(.)

With suggestions:

As Father Time sweeps away
The ashes of the fires of youth
And the cold chills of life's
Newly realized dimensions
Send the aging heart
To the lands of darkness,
Fear, and uncertainty...
God whispers softly:
"Come near and be warmed
And rested in my love."
Then the richness of your faith
Shall carry you in joy, and your
Gratitude shall deny any fears,
As the power of your joy
shall bring your only tears.

The periods are optional...but advised. I further advice not capping every line so the enjambment is more obvious (entirely optional). With further suggestions:

As Father Time sweeps away
the ashes of the fires of youth
and the cold chills of life's
newly realized dimensions
send the aging heart
to the lands of darkness,
fear, and uncertainty...
God whispers softly:
"Come near and be warmed
and rested in my love."
Then the richness of your faith
shall carry you in joy, and your
gratitude shall deny any fears,
as the power of your joy
shall bring your only tears.

Knowing you'll fix the spag and consider suggestions, five stars in advance.

This is an inspiring and uplifting poem. Enjoyed immensely. Also reading aloud--lovely. Lots of fine phonetics in phrasing, especially the medley of S, L, F, W and C sounds.

Love and Blessings,
rd

Lovely poem, Vance! I like how you refer to the ashes of the "fires of youth" and the cold of fear and uncertainty in aging is completely overcome by the power of God's love. We can rest in Him and rejoice in gratitude.

This "aging heart" must be strong and sure to have created such a beautiful and tender poem - the words seem to pulse with a heartbeat of their own. Every line, in perfect harmony with each other, and the lingering image of tears of joy - ah! The perfect closing note!

What a lovely and profoundly inspiring work the author has shared - thank you!
