I guess the aura that surrounds stars like Tom Cruise are irresistible to a lot of young girls, perhaps it wasn't the first time that had happened, but what a memory! I think if I'd have spotted Marilyn Monroe, for me. Although I adored Janet Lee, and the sheer "girl next door" looks of Debbie Reynolds, great little story Patty, blessings, Roy

    Hi Roy;
    whenever I recount this story, I blush. Imagine! A full grown woman falling down and kissing a guy on the hand. My feminist spirit balks at the very idea!

What a cute story! You have told it very well and I have enjoyed every word of it.
I bet Tom Cruise was pretty surprised by your reaction... Or, maybe, as you say, he's used to it.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

A really great story, very well told in all ways! This surely would be a memorable situation for most women and even many men who admire this fine actor. I loved the brief but really excellent tale, so very well packaged as well! HIS GRAYNESS; Vance

    Hi Vance;
    thank you so much for your lovely review. This is one of my most memorable moments - though as the years have passed, I've grown disappointed with his personal life, I still respect him as an actor.

    Thanks for reading and for your continued support of my work,

Hello, Patty,

You met Tom Cruise? Wow, I'm jealous..... LoL. You did a good job writing this true story. I wish you well in the contest. The picture is perfect for your story.

    Hi Gypsy; Yes, I did meet him AND if you've ever watched the movie of 'Rock of Ages,' in one of the last scenes, he encounters a character named 'Patty.' I'm sure it was a special message of remembrance to me!

Your recounting of this embarrassing moment in your life was a fun read. What was the reaction to what you had done when you told him? I am sure you told him, now didn't you? Patricia

    Hi Patricia;

    He laughed for a very long time. It is one of the stories he always makes me tell when we talk about the days of the WesPac cruise. Thank you so much for reading,

This made me chuckle - for all the embarrassing moments we've ever had, while fanning or not - it was so relatable! You have a very clear and descriptive, nearly conversational writing style that flows well. With your vivid images, I can imagine myself there, right along with you.

Very nicely done - great work.

A very well-written true story. When we are young we have a lot of guts to do things we will not do today. I am sure he still thinks back on that day with a twinkling eye. Lol.

What a fun story for this contest. It reminded me of the day Elvis Presley stepped on my foot. He was in Seattle filming At the World's Fair. I can still hear his voice and see his beyond handsome face. Apologized and gave me a hug. I nearly passed out. This is a fun story and a great entry for this contest. I sincerely wish you all the best.

    Hi Charlie;
    thank you so much for your time to review. I don't think NASNI needs the qualifier, since it is a place.
