This is a wonderful entry for this contest. I happen to be huge fan of Top Gun. It was one of my boys favorite movie. They, of course, watched it over and over again. Good luck with the contest.

He must remember you. How many of the crazy girls ran away afterwards, without even asking for an autograph? I think it would be a memorable moment. I think you may have a winner here.

An excellent story. The best part is it really happened. My mother-in-law had the opportunity to meet Paul Newman. She said he had the bluest eyes she had ever seen. Think of these celebrities and how they must feel, knowing that it fulfills other people dreams just to see them.

This work has reached the exceptional level

I was working at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California. Yep, BOO was stationed here. Attended S.E.R.E. school here as a naval air crewman in a VP squadron. San Diego weather was nice. He must been a sailor. I was only twenty-six, my husband was out at sea, and had been for about four months. Where was he deployed to? I know, last six long months. It was the same face that beguiled me in 'Risky Business,' and 'All the Right Moves.' It was him!! Tomcat, yep. I missed Tom. I was at Coronado 82-83? Nice true story. BOO can send you his gold wings he earned after 500 hours in air. LOl! Oh,, that SERE was no joke. BOO-tastic!

Gold Aircrew Wings.

    Hi dip;
    it certainly is one of the most memorable moments of my life. I'm not so keen on his personal life, but I do enjoy his movies.

Hi, Patty.
This was a fun read. You certainly have had a quite a few unique life experiences. I don't think I would have had the courage to kiss any movie star's hand. I'm surprised his body guards didn't spring out of the woodwork to protect him. Maybe things were more casual back in those days. Tom was young back then, and I have heard he's shorter than one thinks. Burt Reynold was also a shorty--most people can't remember him these days.

    Hi Nicole;

    Since Tom was still a new star, and he was surrounded by other naval aviators, no one thought about security. Besides, I didn't do anything too threatening. I have had a few 'star encounters,' but none were as intense as this one,

Oh my! You must be a Tom Cruise fan. For some reason, he exudes "look how cute I am" and for me this is a put off. Glad you got to see him. Good way of sharing the story by giving us the context and then the contact.

    Hi there;
    he was so much cuter when he was a young actor - I totally agree with you about his personality now. I still watch his movies but not in the same way.

    Thank you for reading and reviewing,

    Hi Meia;
    this is probably one of my best memories of the time Dave was gone out to sea. So many things happened during those long six months, but this one was pure joy!

Your story is great and well written. "Top Gun" was his best movie in my opinion. I'm sure your kiss made his day.

The details in your description were vivid enough for me to envision the whole scene. Good job.

    Hi Jake;

    Top Gun is right up there with my favorite Tommy movies. I've gotten a lot of reviews that he probably remembers me. I would like to think so,
